Drum arts Ngoma is an African performing arts organisation based in London run and managed by a group of professional African dancers and musicians. This means that all our artistic engagements in the school workshops, community performances and workshops and after school clubs are run by the very best in the African music, African drumming and African dance fields. Led and Founded by Seby Ntege, an inspiring, experienced and talented musician and dancer himself, the group has appeared at various high profile festivals and events such as Bradford Mela festival and the Royal Albert Hall among others. Drum Arts Ngoma also performed before the Queen at Westminster Abbey back in 2007. The group has also held and continues to run African dance and African drumming school workshops all around the country. Drum Arts Ngoma works with different African musicians and dancers from a variety of musical backgrounds, and this combination offers variety and mixed yet authentic music, drumming and dance experiences, taking you through a musical marriage of various African cultures. Our school workshop tutors each have an inherrent understanding of their heritage and they are passionate about sharing it and passing it on to others through their work. This makes for the inspirational teaching enjoyed by our students across our range of African music, drum and dance workshops. Since its inception, Drum Arts Ngoma has held a number of school and community workshops and performances, both in London and around the country. These are tailored to suit specific individual needs within groups of differing abilities and to emphasise involvement for all participants. The group is open to young people, especially those from minority ethnic groups who would like to learn something new or improve their artistic skills in African music and dance.
